At Sahaj Gastro And Liver Clinic, we have a full-fledged Gastroenterologist, Dr Kaivan Shah who has expertise in the treatment of liver disease (jaundice, fatty liver, hepatitis, cirrhosis, tumours), gall bladder (stones, malignancy), CBD( stone, malignancy) ,pancreas (pancreatitis, malignancy) and stomach - intestines (ulcers, acidity, bleeding, diarrhoea, constipation), rectal cancer , rectal bleeding , haemorrhoids or piles. Many diseases of the digestive system can now be treated by endoscopic procedures after appropriate consultation and diagnosis. Utmost care is taken to make the patient comfortable during all the procedures.
He has completed his MBBS and MD medicine from NHL MMC , VSGH ,Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He has worked in Lokmanya Tilak Hospital, Sion,– one of the best institute in Mumbai and has participated and worked with various national and international faculties during his tenure. He has 8 years of experience in this field and has performed more than 7000 endoscopies including ERCPs, EUS and Capsule Endoscopy.He has published many research papers in the national and international journals and conferences.

Clinical Training
- ✓ During my 3 years of postgraduate training in gastroenterology, I was fortunate to have worked under inspirational teachers. Dr. Prabha Sawant is one of the most prominent names in gastroenterology from India. She is past president of Indian Society of Gastroenterology Maharashtra, and has been head of department of GI services at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College for past 25 years.
- ✓ Our GI unit had 4 postgraduate trainees who attend to 30 – 35 indoor patients. We also catered to an OPD of 100-150 patients on opd days. My duties included patient management and decision-making in the elective and acute setting, training of postgraduate students and administrative duties in the ward.
- ✓ In addition to our patient services, we had weekly interactive teaching sessions as a part of our postgraduate training. These include GI pathology, GI radiology, Journal club, bedside clinical case presentation and clinical meetings in which all faculties actively participate. I also participated in clinical research during my GI training. After an initial period of guidance we were encouraged to perform endoscopies independently.
